$1,890 and 35 bricks from 160 donors in 13 countries for Rising Star Outreach’s “Pathway of Hope”

In August, we launched the “Charity From The Heart” campaign in partnership with Angels For A Cause to raise funds among overseas fans for the “Pathway of Hope” to benefit Rising Star Outreach. The campaign has finally come to a close. Thanks to the faithfulness and generosity of 160 donors from 13 countries around the world, we have raised a total of US$1,890 for Rising Star’s new secondary school and contributed 35 bricks to the Pathway of Hope. The donors comprise loyal fans of David Archuleta, as well as non-fans like my own friends, co-workers in office and members of my church. A big Thank You also to the admin of the country fan sites for coordinating the donations from your local fans and the delivery of the AFAC bracelets.

For those donors who have not received your AFAC bracelets, I ask for your patience in waiting for them to arrive in your mail.

PS: If you haven’t, check out AFAC’s latest fundraising project – “Tree Of Hope” for more David goodies !

PPS: IMPORTANT – This tiny fundraising campaign does NOT encompass donations to Rising Star Outreach from ALL overseas fans outside North America. We have missed out donations from some generous fans in Europe, Japan, Venezuela, Hong Kong and who-knows-where-else because they have donated way before this campaign started. :D

  3. This is really AMAZING!!! The Pathway of Hope with 35 engraved bricks – it’s going to so beautiful!! I just don’t understand that you say 13 countries! I know one from Venezuela that donated a brick and I did myself as well and I’m from Denmark – so that make it at least 15 countries!

Can’t wait to see the “Pathway of Hope” :)

Hanne – Thanks for your comment. It reminded me that this tiny campaign does not encompass all the donations from international fans because some have already donated before this campaign started in August. It would be quite a challenge to track the exact number of countries involved in supporting RSO. More importantly, it is not fair for us to claim credit for donations from fans that did not arise from this particular fundraising campaign. Hence our decision to exclude the donations that were made before the campaign started. Hope for your understanding. :) I have made a PPS note in the blog post to highlight this. – Larissa

      • Larissa thanks for your respond :) I see the PPS note now! I just didn’t know that you were talking about a “campaign in the campaign” – I thought you were talking about the “Pathway of Hope” in general LOL!! So of course I understand :)

  4. Hi,
I’m collecting donors’ pictures and I’m wondering if I can still send them to you in the future? I’m planning to take a group picture when we meet up on 20 Nov.

    • davidbeyondborders Says:

Huong, 20 Nov is probably too late for me to include it with the collage that I’m bringing to show David on the winter tour. But please still take the group picture and maybe I’ll be able to put it in a tribute video for David in December. Is this okay with you? Thanks! – Larissa

  5. Should I send you the pics. that I’m having now?
