David Archuleta, talent by inheritance?

The famous singing contest “American Idol” broadcast by Fox TV has served as a springboard for dozens of young talent making themselves known in the United States and around the world. In 2008 Murray resident David Archuleta shot to fame after winning second place in the fierce competition. However, many are unaware that his voice and charisma come from inheritance, his mother, who plans to win over Utah with her singing.

In 1997, love brought Lupita Mayorga Archuleta to Utah, where she began a new phase of her life to raise a family that later would comprise of five children.

Claudia, David, Daniel, Jazmine and Amber became her passion and commitment, but the love for music and desire to return to a stage never left her mind and heart.

Now that Charice, 18, has officially won the hearts of American viewers with her appearances on Glee, it’s time for the next right of passage for any major celebrity — she needs some A-list arm candy! Browse our gallery of Hollywood hunks and pick the one you think would look great with Charice.

Here are our top picks for Charice’s perfect match:

  1. David Archuleta: Charice performed with David, 20, back in Nov. 2010 for a Christmas special in Los Angeles.
  2. Nick Jonas: Charice collaborated with Nick, 18, for one of her latest songs, “One Day.”
  3. Justin Bieber: Charice has expressed an interest in working with Justin, 17, at some point in the future.
  4. Kevin McHale: Charice recently admitted that Kevin, 22, is her Glee crush.
  5. Rain: Charice can probably relate to Rain, 28, a fellow international pop superstar.
