My heart hurts even though I should be happy for him! Tears is all that is left of every single fan of his! Although it is hard to digest the fact that he wouldn’t be making music during the time, I’m sure we are all going to love and support him through this decision that makes him the happiest and will eagerly await his return to share his gift:)
WE LOVE YOU DAVID.

David Archuleta’s Own Ribbon in the Sky
This past weekend, David Archuleta was amongst other celebs at a celebrity basketball game for the charity Duffy’s Hope. After the game, the whole crew headed out to a restaurant where David was asked to get up and sing. Spur of the moment, he sang “Ribbon in the Sky” by Stevie Wonder, earning a standing ovation from everyone in the restaurant.
The next day one of the celebs who participated in the game, Alesha Renee, posted a clip of David performing the song. After retweeting the video, David tweeted saying that he was going to take on the song again in a video blog for the fans, and hours later, David finally did what so many fans have hoped he would someday do: He sang in a blog.
After a minute or so of talking, David introduced the song and began. His silky-smooth voice soaring as he transformed from the bubbly boy who was just talking, to the soulful balladeer he becomes the second he opens his mouth to sing. At the end of the song, he went for a high note into his falsetto and didn’t quite hit it the first time, which he apologized for afterward. Well David, don’t apologize, as you’re the one who once said that the imperfections make the song.
David singing impromptu in a blog, letting himself get lost in the song so much that he makes a small mistake: that is perfection. That is when you know David is at his best. He admitted that he wasn’t even too familiar with the song, but he made it his own and created a connection with it as he sang beautifully. He gave his fans his own ribbon in the sky as he proved once again his innocent love for singing as he created a raw, deep moment for his fans. That right there was pure enjoyment coming from pure talent.

Just wanted to fill you guys in on what’s been happening lately with some of the decisions that have been on my mind lately. Sorry again for how long it is but wanted to make sure I got everything in. Had a great time with my little sister this weekend going to the Monster Jam, Six Flags, and other things. Been excited about songwriting too and can’t wait for you guys to hear what may come from it!

Howdy folks! It’s David here. And as you can see, I’m outside today because the weather is amazing. It’s been raining like crazy the last few days. It’s nice weather, blue skies, sunny, so I just couldn’t resist to come outside. Haha. Anyway I just wanted to check in with you guys, let you guys know what’s been going on.
First off, this last Friday was my younger sister’s birthday. And so I brought her down to Southern California. Just got to spend time with her and took her out to places to eat. It was just really cool getting to do that. And then we also went to see Monster Truck racing. It was called Monster Jam at Dodger Stadium. And it was a pretty interesting experience because it was pouring rain, it was freezing, but it was fun. We weren’t allowed to take in umbrellas. So we just wore garbage bags because we had to leave the umbrellas in the car. But it was an experience, that’s for sure. It was fun.
Then another thing we got to do was yesterday, for President’s Day, we went to Six Flags Magic Mountain and got to ride the roller coasters there. It was fun. Both my sister and I love roller coasters so it was a lot of fun getting to do that. Then we also went to the batting cages and things like that. So it was fun. I really hope my sister had a good time. So, Amber, I hope you had a good birthday weekend. Haha.
But anyway, the next thing, to get down to business here, is I need to let you guys know about just the things that have been going on. I know a lot of you have been worried about it, with hearing that I’m no longer with my label, record label Jive, and I’m not with my management any more either. So I’ve actually, you know, I’ve gonna been talking a little about it in my Tweets and stuff, just about decision making, making decisions. And just figuring out who’s David? What is he supposed to be? What direction is he trying to go as an artist and things? And just really thinking about that. Something I’ve been doing a lot is writing. I’ve done a lot of writing in the past but lately I’ve just been trying to focus writing by myself, what comes out of me and just not even… try not to be self conscious. I’m a self conscious person but don’t worry what comes out. Just let it come out. And it’s just been really cool getting to see… okay this is what I’m feeling, this is what I’m thinking, and this is how it come out in music. I mean that’s the reason music… that’s the purpose of music, right? So I’ve just been excited about doing that and getting more involved with writing, and seeing what sound comes from here, you know, David’s head. So I’m excited for you guys to hear what may come out of it. It’s just a fun time getting to… I think it’s the most important of all the doing this, the relationship I have with you guys. You guys are the ones that are hearing this and listening to it. And I just want to make sure that whatever it is that I’m sharing is real and something I feel a real connection to and just feel good about. That’s the most important part of music. Isn’t that the number one thing I should be focusing on? And giving myself time to do it. I’ve never really given myself time to do it, so now I’ve said this is important.
But anyway, with Jive, sorry for the noises outside anyway. With Jive… JIve has been changing as a company. They’ve been going… there have been a lot of changes. The president of Sony, Barry Weiss, who’s also over Jive Records, he’s no longer with the company any more. He left Sony. And same with my A&R guy who’s the person who I would make the albums with, Jeff Fenster; the album making process, he was the guy. He’s no longer there. He left too. And so a lot of people have been leaving and there just have been a lot of changes. They’re changing as a company and then I feel I’m changing as an artist. I’m changing the direction I’m going too.
There are offers to continue working with them but it just didn’t feel like the right thing now. I’ve loved working with them. They’ve been so great. You know the people there have just been awesome. I love always going over to visit them, and just talk to them. I’ve learned a lot from them as a company. They’ve help me get to this point, from what I’ve learned with the music business and the way it all works. But it just felt I need to start going a different direction now. It just felt like the right time to part ways… I’ve been talking a lot about decisions. It’s hard, it’s scary making those decisions sometimes. Sometimes you’re like is this the right decision? Am I crazy or…? But I’ve learned also throughout my life, you have to follow your gut. You have to follow that instinct feeling that you have inside of you.
Sometimes it’s hard to make a decision but it’s the right thing to do. And so I’ve been excited and I’m looking forward to the future, what David is gonna be giving to you guys. In the future, what, how also I’ll be developing as a person and as an artist with my music.
Another thing is with management. I’m no longer with my management company that I’ve been working with. It’s another great company. They’ve had so much success. They’ve been really fun to work with. But it’s just been another thing. It’s like, I realize that this is not where I need to be right now. This is not where I’m supposed to go, what I want to be doing right now, and what I want to be focusing on. I mean not like that they were doing anything bad or anything wrong, you know. They’ve been great. But just thinking, okay, what do I want to focus on right now? What’s the right thing for me to do right now? …I’ve just learned, only recently I’ve learned, …it’s an obvious thing, but it took me a while to realize, I have control over my life. The decisions I make are that’s what’s gonna make or break, not just necessarily my career, but my life too. So I’m just excited where to go, the changes, the direction that I’m hoping to go now with music.
I’m sorry for scaring you guys with things. I just want to thank all of you for the support you’ve been showing. And It just means a lot to me to see that you guys, even though sometimes what’s going on, you’re still supportive, you’re still positive, and I just appreciate that so much. It helps me keep… you know, I already feel good about things, but it makes feel so much better to know that you guys are [still supportive]. There are a couple of things coming up that will be going on soon, and I’m looking forward to letting you guys know about in their own due time.
But anyway, this always gets long. I’m sorry. I don’t know if I mentioned, but there’s a banana tree behind here. I just thought it be kind of fun to have some platano bananas growing right there, if you didn’t notice. Anyway, so that’s all I have to say for now. Sorry it’s so long. But I will talk to you guys later and I’ll let you guys… I’ll just fill you guys in more on what happens in the future. Just didn’t want to leave you guys in the dark. Communication is key. This relationship with music, you guys… it’s the relationship with you guys that’s most important. Thanks for hearing me ramble. I’m sorry if that got complicated. Have a great week, you guys.

David Archuleta – Jive Made Offers
Career Changes
By Pamela Pike
It seems miscommunications is the order of the day!
David Archuleta gave us a blog today explaining his future plans with music and his new career moves. He explained Jive is changing and it just felt like the right time to part ways. He feels he is changing as an artist and he need to focus on what direction he intends to follow.
Offers were made to continue with Jive but David felt it was the right move to make so he can continued with his songwriting. Not having a great deal of time to really write what he wants, he wants to make sure whatever it is that he’s sharing with his fans is real and can connect to them. He has also parted with his management company as he didn’t feel they were going in the same direction.
Taking control of his life is formost on his mind. He is excited about the direction he is heading for his career and his life. Congratulations!
It just goes to show you that you shouldn’t take information for a fact until it comes from the horses mouth. Even thoses with good intentions can mislead fans. Sources who say they had confirmation that David was released, dropped, ousted, booted or let go should be embarresed, including myself.
(“He was up for renewal and for reasons we have not been privy to they decided not to offer a new contract”.)
My apologies to David and his many fans for jumping the gun and adding heartache to a situation already disturbing.
David also suggested that in the near furture he has some exciting projects coming up and he will let us know about this as soon as he can. Lets hope it has something to do with singing!!
Thank you everyone!

KIDS
Greetings Everyone from David, I’m reporting to you from lovely SoCal (southern california) LA area, haha… and just been enjoying the weather here, there are just a few things I had to do down here and just been kinda taking a little bit of time to just kind of breathe and relax and stuff, so it’s been nice but anyway I just thought I’d just keep up with one of my New Year’s resolutions in keeping up the blogs and keeping in touch with you guys, I, this week um, I just kinda, you know earlier today I sent a tweet just about like kids, and um I just been thinkin, “Man all these little kids are so awesome and getting to .. han… just talk to them and stuff. Last night, I was actually when I was going to Target there are these 2 little kids in the lane, next, ov…. next to us and they;re just like such happy little kids and one of them just you know kinda was a , they’re just funny and all of a sudden their just like “Hi!”, “Hey!” and I’m like, “Heeey, how are you doing?!” lol. They’re like, “We’re good!”, and they told me their names and they’re like. and I’m like, “How old are you guys? and they’re like, “I’m 4!” and the other one’s like, “I’m 2!” lol, and then it was like we have to go somewhere, “Bye”! and they’re like, “Bye bye!”, and the 4 year old kid was like, “I like him! I like that guy MOM!”, lol, kids are just AWESOME! I was passing by a couple of elementary schools this morning too, and it’s just like… man they’re just, what I love about kids, you know and also you know the kids in India, just AGAIN, I think it’s been maybe another reason why it’s been on my mind so much, KIDS ARE JUST REAL, you know they don’t, they’re not like, you know the older you get the more it’s like, “Oh I feel like I have to impress this person , and suck up to this person,”. Kids are just, they genuinely like you and they genuinely just wanna find out about you… So, I even have my you know buzz lightyear shirt on to just kinda honor this topic by the way, and also just kinda this funky little fun background, anyway…. um no, I think it’s just cool to just interact with kids , you know? That’s kinda like my challenge for the day just um if there’s any things guys can do maybe like some, one time, even volunteering at schools and stuff, you know last year I went to and got to, you know, read to some kids .. (a dog barks in the background “ruff”) Sorry, there’s a dog… Hey you guys can meet this little dog by the way, come here, buddy (i think)…. one moment, it’s a cute little dog, it’s little kids size, anyway, okay back to what I was talking about, anyway, sorry, I need to keep focused, um no, I just thought you know if there is a chance that you guys can volunteer. like maybe girls and boys clubs or at schools, helping tutor, simple things like that, reading, um, just see what you can do, you know, kids, you learn so much from them, and just from their purity and they’re fun to hang out with lol so, you know I act pretty immature for my age, you know I’m still, my favorite movies are Pixar but I think everyone likes Pixar you know, as you can see. But, no, that’s just kinda the thing I wanted to talk about today and just you know, don’t be afraid to be a kid sometimes too, it’s fun to watch those kid’ movies lol, or play games with all the little kids, playing like, duck duck goose, or things like back in the good ole days, tag, and you know you can still be a little kid sometimes. So, that’s just what I wanted to say, I will update you guys next week, hopefully, you know, if I can keep up with this, sorry if my face is bright, you know the light is just kinda shining so it’s like don’t wanna blind any you guys with my shiny face but white face um, but yeah, I’ll talk to you guys later again and let me know hey if you guys have any experiences throughout the week any cool things happening, if you took on the challenges just tryin to find that kid inside of you more, let me know, it’s fun hearing from you guys. But uh.. OH! Another thing I went, before I leave, I also went to a wrestling match for my first time, I got to see one of my friends wrestle and it was just cool getting to see how that goes, you know I watched the Olympics a couple times but actually being there at a an actual wrestling match was cool. I tried going one time in high school to see some of my friends but I got there at the end of it so I didn’t catch any of it, but it was just cool getting to go support and seeing what it was like ……. fun stuff. So that’s what I had to say this week til next time, PEACE.
